Description
Mark 13:1-13
As a disciple was admiring the buildings around him, Jesus warned him that one day the building stones would crumble. Building your faith in God’s Kingdom rather than on the temporary earth ensures a strong foundation as the end times will bring about violence and destruction. Stand firm in God until the end and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Invocation
Pastor Praise the Lord who does not abandon us!
ALL We praise the Lord who is our portion and our cup.
Pastor He has for us a delightful inheritance in His magnificent eternal Kingdom.
ALL We must stand firm until the end of time. Help us, Holy Spirit!
Opening Prayer / Theme Introduction
Pastor Father God, as the end times near, fill us with joy and strength instead of fear. We are on
this planet to carry out Your will and bring You all the glory. By Your Spirit, lead us.
ALL Lead us in Your way everlasting.
Pastor We need You, Holy Spirit, to fill us.
ALL Fill us with hope. In the name of Christ the Son we pray, Amen.
Time of Confession and Forgiveness
[Alternate location: following Message]
Pastor It’s quite easy to fall into the slippery trap of religiosity. Like the priests who performed all
the rituals, we easily perform in this Christian life, but our hearts are not aligned to You, O
God. We harbor bitter fruits of pride, jealousy, fear, malice, greed, and gossip, and
neglect the command to confess our sins to You and to others.
ALL We confess, Lord, that we have hidden sin in our hearts and put on an outward
façade.
Pastor Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and set free!
ALL Hallelujah! We accept this beautiful gift of forgiveness and are thankful.
Pastor We repent and turn away from old habits. Holy Spirit, make us new.
ALL In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit we pray, amen.
We Hear God’s Word
[Read aloud both the introduction and Scripture]
First Reading Daniel 12:1-3
Suffering is in the future of God’s people, but so is great hope when Jesus one day returns for His Bride- the Church.
“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
