Description

Mark 13:1-8

Jesus predicted the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, prompting His disciples to ask about the signs of the end times. He emphasized the importance of being watchful and discerning, as many will come in His name, leading to confusion and deception. Take time to pray and seek God’s guidance daily to remain vigilant and aware of the signs of the times, while encouraging others in their faith walks. Let’s commit to staying grounded in our faith and regularly engaging with Scripture to recognize truth from falsehood.

Opening Prayer / Theme Introduction

Pastor / Worship Leader

Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank You for this day and for the gift of gathering in Your name.

Worshipers

We ask for Your guidance and strength as we worship, that our hearts may be open to Your Word.

Pastor / Worship Leader

Help us to encourage one another and to stand firm in our faith, trusting in Your promises.

Worshipers

May our worship bring You glory, Lord!

Time of Confession and Forgiveness

[Alternate location: following Message]

Pastor / Worship Leader

As we approach God’s throne of grace, let us confess the sin that weighs us down.

Worshipers

We confess that we have not always lived in accordance with Your will. We have faltered in our faith and have neglected to encourage one another. Instead, we have participated in division, gossip, and slander.  Forgive us, Lord.

Pastor / Worship Leader

Hear the good news: if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!

Worshipers

We receive Your forgiveness, Lord, and we commit to walking in Your light and love. Amen.

…  We Hear God’s Word  …

[Read aloud both the introduction and Scripture]

First Reading                             Daniel 12:1-3

In times of great trouble, God promised deliverance for those whose names are written in the Book of Life. We look forward to the day when we will shine brightly in God’s glory forever!

“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
