When the Pharisees plotted to trap Jesus by asking him about paying imperial taxes to Caesar, they never expected the answer Jesus gave them. “So, give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” A coin bears the image of earthly rulers, but we bear the image of God and we belong to Him.
