There is an old saying that goes like this: “Don’t get the cart before the horse!” It would be ridiculous to imagine you could get anywhere with that order, because horses don’t push carts, they pull them. Today Jesus clearly tells us to keep the first things first, to first seek His kingdom. Then He promises us that everything else will follow. Too many of us put the cart (nice things, reputation) first and it only brings about worry and fear. Which is first in your priorities, the cart or the horse? Are you keeping the first thing first?
