Description
John 8:48-59
Long ago, God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am.’ He said further, ‘Thus you shall say to the Israelites, “I am has sent me to you.” Many years later, Jesus would speak in similar terms to the Jews about His union with God, the Father. Jesus said to the Jews, “Very truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.” He pointed out to them that long before Abraham, He co-existed with the Father. Coupled with this union is the Holy Spirit—the power that makes the truth known. On this special Sunday, we make it clear that that there is unity with one God in three persons. We have the truth from God, the Father, communicated and demonstrated by Jesus, the Son, and manifested through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Invocation and Introduction of Today’s Theme
Pastor What a joy it is today to be together on this Holy Trinity Sunday, a day on which we celebrate God who co-exists in three persons. We worship in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
ALL Amen!
Opening Prayer
Pastor Almighty God, our Father, You have made yourself known to us as the author and giver of life. It is through Your mighty Spirit that You strengthen, renew, and sustain all creation. It is through Your Son, Jesus Christ, that You reveal Your grace and Your love. We are here to seek Your presence and power and ask that You come to us in our state of weakness, that we may be strengthened and transformed. Send Your mighty Spirit!
ALL In the strong name of Jesus. Amen
Time of Greeting
Time of Confession and Forgiveness
[Alternate location: following Message]
All Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we confess to you that we have sinned and are in need of forgiveness and restoration. We have sinned against You Father, by not taking care of Your creation, therefore affecting generations that follow. We have sinned against You Jesus, in our self- centeredness, by not showing care and compassion to those around us who are in need of what we can give them. We have sinned against You Spirit of God, by not upholding the truth of Your Word and speaking up for our faith, even though the power to do so is always with us. On this Sunday devoted to the Holy Trinity and its mystery, speak to us through Your Spirit and give us a clearer understanding of who You are as the Three in One.
Pastor Let us all embrace the promise and reality that all our sins are now forgiven. Mighty God, we give you praise, honor, and glory for this gift of amazing grace in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
We Hear God’s Word

First Reading Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31
Wisdom was present at creation and works with the Creator—giving counsel and guidance.
1 Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice? 2 On the heights, beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; 3 beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries out: 4 “To you, O people, I call, and my cry is to all that live.
22 The LORD created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago. 23 Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. 24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth– 26 when he had not yet made earth and fields, or the world’s first bits of soil. 27 When he established the heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28 when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, 29 when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 then I was beside him, like a master worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, 31 rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the human race.
