The Gospel lesson has such interesting characters & a judge who is actually a scoundrel, who cares neither for “God nor man”, and a woman who wears out the judge seeking some justice. She should have given up. The verdict had been delivered. She had no rights. Yet she kept coming and coming and coming. The Greek word has the sense of “giving a black eye.” Jesus encourages us to be faithful in prayer, which doesn’t mean doing it regularly, but being faith-filled in prayer, expecting God to listen and to answer. And we are on our knees, wearing out the fabric in our clothing, faithfully and persistently approaching our loving Father.
