Luke 2:40-52
There are people who spend a lifetime searching for meaning and purpose in life. Their search takes them on a journey to different destinations, yet true fulfillment escapes them. There are many people in our world who are looking here and there and in the wrong places. Even regular church members and attenders can find themselves searching. In the account from Luke’s gospel, we see Mary and Joseph searching for Jesus. They certainly did not expect to find him in the temple – listening, teaching, and sharing wisdom, yet where else would he be? Jesus equals new life, meaningful life, and gives purpose in life. The search ends with Jesus–the way, the truth, and the life.
