Spirit of the Law

The letter of the Law is easy. Don’t kill. Don’t commit adultery. Most of us can say we have been obedient to the letter of the Law. It’s the spirit of the law that is difficult. It’s not just don’t kill – it’s love. It’s not just don’t steal – it’s give to others. There are so many of us who are harmless – but useless. Jesus calls us to obey not just the letter of the Law, but the Spirit of the Law.
