John 1:29-42a
What are you looking for? We have heard the question asked of us and we have asked the question ourselves. Perhaps you are searching the house for your keys or your cell phone or scrolling through pages on the computer and it prompts the question. More importantly, the question is actually before us all when it comes to life. What are we looking for when it comes to purpose and meaning in life? The question begs for a clear answer from all of us. What are people looking for? Is it security, power, prestige, wealth, acceptance, fulfillment, success, or love? Some people spend their entire lives on earth searching yet they never find or are never satisfied. In our narrative, Jesus asks the question of the two disciples, what are you looking for? We recognize ourselves in the question. The answer lies in JesusMessiah Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
