Description
Hebrews 13:1-8
Over this last month we have heard teachings from the book of Hebrews about living in Faith and have been pointed to Christ who will one day bring us to our Heavenly home. Today we end our time in Hebrews with encouraging statements for our lives here on earth. Since we are secure in our relationship to Christ through faith, we live lives of love and seek to care for those around us.

Time of Greeting
Time of Confession and Forgiveness
[Alternate location: following Message]
Pastor Even as we gather in the joy of the Spirit, we realize we aren’t prepared to be in the presence of God. We haven’t done what God called us to do this week. Even if we can say we did our best to honor God and love our neighbors we know that we weren’t perfect. As you recall your sins, turn to Jesus, trusting in His mercy and calling on Him to forgive and restore you.
Time to pray on your own
Pastor Together let us confess and call upon Jesus,
ALL Jesus, our Lord and our Light, forgive us where we have done wrong and strayed from Your ways. Bring us back to Yourself and forgive us. Make us forever Your people and send us as Your beloved. Have mercy Lord, have mercy.
Pastor Jesus Christ has had mercy upon you. He loves you unconditionally. Feel His loving embrace as I announce His grace to you: your sins are forgiven; you are declared perfect in Jesus name.
ALL Amen.
We Hear God’s Word
[Read aloud both the introduction and Scripture]
First Reading Proverbs 25:2-10
These teachings were first intended to instruct Kings and their courts and include an encouragement for research, state imposed moral laws, a teaching on one’s place in society, and dispute resolutions between two parties without legal action.
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. 3 As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. 4 Remove the dross from the silver, and a silversmith can produce a vessel; 5 remove wicked officials from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness. 6 Do not exalt yourself in the king’s presence, and do not claim a place among his great men; 7 it is better for him to say to you, “Come up here,” than for him to humiliate you before his nobles. What you have seen with your eyes 8do not bring hastily to court,
for what will you do in the end if your neighbor puts you to shame? 9 If you take your neighbor to court, do not betray another’s confidence, 10 or the one who hears it may shame you and the charge against you will stand.
Reader The word of the Lord.
ALL Thanks be to God.
