Description
Luke 2:15-21
What a sight for the shepherds to behold the Son of God as a babe. His audience consisted of his earthly parents and the shepherds who came to see, but His impact would always be eternal. Mary treasured all of these events as the shepherds praised this newborn babe who was given the name Jesus. At this name, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is indeed Lord of All.

For the Lord already knows, but confession keeps us humble and obedient to the King of Kings.

We Hear God’s Word
[Read aloud both the introduction and Scripture]
First Reading Numbers 6:22-27
The Lord instructed Moses to give the Israelites a blessing. This blessing has become a famous blessing that people pray over others. May the Lord bless you now as you hear these words.
The Lord said to Moses, 23 “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: 24 “‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’ 27 “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
