John 19:17-30

This day we gather to ponder the death of our Lord Jesus Christ, a death that is “good” for us.  The word “good” itself can be said to draw its meaning from this day, for it is the “good-est” day for all of humanity.  Yet, it is without doubt, the most difficult worship service for many of us.  Is this what sin really does?  Is this the result of my sin?  Have my actions sent Jesus to death?  No, Jesus gave himself for us.  His willing sacrifice changes this world.  Graves of saints are eternally broken.  The veil separating God and man has been removed.  We are redeemed, forever.
