John 1:43-51

When you have a positive experience, it is common to share your experience with others with the thought that they too may see what it is like. How about a church you have attended? A restaurant where you have eaten? A store where you have shopped? A bible study where you are fed?  When you actually invite the person to go with you, it is hard to say, “no.”  When people are invited to accompany you to see for themselves, they are drawn in and relationships are strengthened. In the Gospel account, we can readily see what is happening through the dialogue. The two disciples have a desire to be with Jesus so that they can get to know him better. They want direct personal contact. Phillip says to Nathanael, “come and see.” Come with me and you will see for yourself…and he did, and the lives of both Phillip and Nathanael were transformed.
