Matthew 27:11-66
As we look at the state of affairs in this world we live in, it is common for many, including us, to ask the question, “Where is God in all of this?” Have people been let loose like a rubber band airplane and God just sits back to see what happens? Will people make the world a better place or move it toward destruction? We know that God sent Jesus into the world to bring a message of healing and salvation as the King of Kings and to embrace God’s plan. On the journey, Jesus encountered the whole gamut of human conduct and the human condition. On this Passion Sunday, we see the shouts of “Hosanna, Hosanna!” turning quickly into shouts of “Crucify Him, Crucify Him!” It is still occurring today! All of the behaviors Jesus encountered in His day are still with us. Where is God? As always, He is with us – still in control!
