Description
Mark 5:21-43
Just a touch of Jesus’ cloak was all it took, and a woman who suffered from chronic bleeding was healed. The crowds pushed against Him, desperate to receive from and experience the Christ, but Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” Her touch was full of persevering faith, and it was her faith that shuffled through the crowds and healed her at last. When asked to heal Jairus’ daughter who was pronounced dead, Jesus turned to the devastated father and said, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” The little girl arose in response to Jesus’ voice, and a miracle once again took place because of faith. We are faced with numerous opportunities to just believe in faith and not be afraid. Will you believe?

Time of Confession and Forgiveness
[Alternate location: following Message]
Pastor / Worship Leader
Lord, we believe in You and Your holy Word.
Worshipers
We admit and confess that we lack much and we need You.
Pastor / Worship Leader
In our lack, we invent our own ways and our desires give birth to sin.
Worshipers
We sin when we live our lives apart from You and take matters into our own hands. We repent of the idols in our lives that we worship. Only You belong on the throne. Forgive us, Lord Jesus.
Pastor / Worship Leader
By Your grace alone are we forgiven. It is only by Jesus’ blood that was shed for our sins. We thank you, Redeemer, for your forgiveness and grace.
Worshipers
We praise Your holy name, Jesus. Amen.
We Hear God’s Word

First Reading Lamentations 3:22-33
The Lord is faithful, good, and shows compassion. He lays burdens on us so that we can pray and wait on Him to bring hope.
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” 25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; 26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. 27 It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young. 28 Let him sit alone in silence, for the Lord has laid it on him. 29 Let him bury his face in the dust—there may yet be hope. 30 Let him offer his cheek to one who would strike him, and let him be filled with disgrace. 31 For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. 32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. 33 For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.
