Life In the Midst of Death and Grief

$14.99

John 11:1-45

Sooner or later, every person in the world experiences the sadness and grief that accompanies the death of a loved one or friend in their lives. It is a fact of living in this world. Death is one of the most difficult realities to accept and deal with because human beings matter the most to us, or they should, other than our relationship with God. The death of Lazarus is cause for weeping and sorrow for sisters Mary and Martha. Jesus is so caught up in their tears, that He too, sheds tears. We have been there. Life is so precious to us that when death stares us in the face, our emotions surface. The story does not end there as Jesus calls Lazarus out of the tomb after being dead for four days. Soon, Jesus will be in his final days as He moves closer to the cross and the tomb. In the midst of grief, we know the final result. This means we can have an abundant life now even in the midst of the death and grief we experience. We can live in hope because we know what awaits us!  This scripture is for the 5th Sunday in Lent.
