In our Gospel reading today we hear Peter confess Jesus as the Christ, the son of God. In response to this confession Jesus lays out his plans for the church on earth, grounded in the confession of Peter. In all things, even when given the keys to the church, it is still Jesus church and His to govern and reign over. Our church here is Jesus church, and He is here among us.
