Many people today live with what seems to be an obsession with the present world. You only live once so grab the gusto, satisfy your appetites, grab all your entitlements, and purchase as much “stuff” as you can. This will all add to your happiness and fulfillment in life. The magazines, media, billboards, and many around us communicate this message and many of us take it in–hook, line, and sinker. Jesus knows us so well, thus he once again speaks to us to drive home the point that the greatest treasure is God’s kingdom under God’s reign. God is above all in power, worth, authority, and hope. Nothing in this world comes close to the un-surpassing love of God in and through Jesus Christ. Nothing whatsoever can separate us from that love. God is the treasure above all treasures!
