The spirit of man was self-serving, self-seeking, self-aggrandizing. And the result was disunity, division, lack of communication, posturing. We still Babel a bit today. We still think it’s about us. We put forth our spirit of triumphalism. We want to make a name for ourselves. And in contrast stands Pentecost. The Spirit of God brings us together. The Spirit of God speaks a language we can all understand. The Spirit of God lifts us so that everything we are and do speaks to His love. Babel becomes Proclamation.
